1. What is the purpose of this text?
The purpose of this text is for Jennifer Lawrence to get her point across and for her opinion on her male co-stars getting paid more than herself to be heard. Her opinion is that it is unfair for a female actress to be paid less than a male actor because generally speaking people believe that typically women are less successful at work and don't have the same qualities and skills that men have. The text is trying to open up peoples minds about the subject of gender equality. 

2. Make a list of the 'male' and 'female' language features in this text. What is their effect on the reader?
One language feature that Jennifer Lawrence uses in this text are swear words and she uses these to exaggerate on her points and to prove that she can use both language features used by male and females. For example she says 'I fucking forgot.' and 'No-bullshit'. These are typically words that males associate with and that you would generally hear men saying whilst talking in conversations but also use them in texts. This links to the context because she her trying to prove her point of females having as good as mind set as males and by using male language features its proving that she can take on roles that males have and is capable of being successful.
Another language feature that she uses is grammatically correct punctuation. Its very clear to see that she understands how to use correct punctuation such as full stops, commas, capital letters and how to arrange her paragraphs. This links to the context as she is trying to make a point of woman being as intelligent as men and proving that women can do the same things as what men do.

3. Do you agree with her conclusion? Justify your answer.
I agree with Jennifer Lawrence's conclusion. As a female myself I believe that being treated differently because of my gender is unfair and we shouldn't be treated any differently in the working industry. I think that women should be treated fairly like men are and shouldn't be paid any different to their male co-workers. Women are just as capable of being successful In any career they choose to follow just like men are. Both genders can be intelligent and have a great, clear mind set in order to get them where they want to be in life. Your gender shouldn't effect the way you are treated in any way weather it being your job or your acceptance in society. Everyone should be treated as an individual.
